    Programmbeschreibung:

    Master in Management - Get your management degree at THE KLU

    This innovative program was designed for Bachelor’s degree holders from business related fields and aims to provide students with the competencies and methods needed in higher management positions. Internationality of students and teaching staff, a multidisciplinary yet integrative perspective, a problem-based learning approach, and an application of theory to practical problems are thus the program‘s major characteristics.

    Master Management - Overview

     

    Target Group
    National and international students with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university or college in Germany or abroad and an excellent academic record. The required bachelor’s degree will usually be in business or economics. Other fields such as industrial engineering, business informatics or mathematics will be considered if your bachelor’s degree consists of a sufficient number (at least four) and a variety of courses in the field of business administration or business economics.

    Program Contents

    • 70% Management, 15% Economics, 15% Leadership and Soft Skills
    • If Specialisation is chosen, the Management part contains 20% Logistics
    • An exchange trimester with partner schools abroad
    • An integral 2 to 3 month period of practical training
    • 2 integration projects with problem-based-learning
    • 4 months Master’s thesis

    Mission

    • to develop your critical faculties based on scientific methods and insights, to take a multi-disciplinary yet integrative approach and to foster decision-making based on ethical principles
    • to develop your ability to analyze, evaluate, decide, shape and implement business policies, and to apply and assess scientific and practical methods
    • to train your decision-making abilities via problem-based and decision-oriented learning in small groups and via case- and project-based learning
    • to enable students to take on responsibility and exert leadership in an entrepreneurial spirit
    • to understand the theories, principles and practice of logistics and supply chain management (if chosen)

    24 months, full time

    Tuitition fee
    15,000 euros, that is 7,500 euros per year

     

    Financing

  • We provide great opportunities for you to help financing your studies:

    •  

    1) Merit-based scholarships of 100% of the overall tuition fee. Applicants must be admitted to a Master of Science program at the KLU and hand in the following items:

    - KLU scholarship application form

    - GMAT score report (≥ 600)

    - application deadline: June 30, 2011


    2) Brain capital financing offers students at The Kühne Logistics University an innovative way of funding their course.
    Participants in this scheme pay no tuition fees while studying, and instead agree to make income-dependent payments after graduation once they have reached a certain level of income. This means every student has the same opportunity to study at the KLU, regardless of their financial background.

    Start of the program

    Course Structure

    Our two-year master’s program starts each September and is divided into six trimesters. The degree equates to 120 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System).

    Modules in Advanced Business Sciences and Scientific Methods and Business Skills provide a solid foundation for tackling interdisciplinary, problem-based Integration Projects, in which you and your team develop management solutions to real-world issues. Specialisation Modules in Logistics would cover topics like Operations Research and Operations Management. Students learn to understand current and to explore, evaluate and implement new strategic options by deeply understanding and anticipating their supply chain management repercussions.

     

    Internship & Trimester Abroad

    After the third trimester you will complete an internship, which you may choose to do abroad. This gives you the opportunity to put into practice the concepts and methods you have learnt and to identify relevant business problems for your master’s thesis. During the fourth trimester, which is spent abroad at one of our partner schools in Europe, Asia and the Americas, you will then be able to acquire intercultural knowledge and experience the unique life of an exchange student.

     

    Master's thesis

    During the final part of your studies you complete a master’s thesis where you can research your primary area of interest in depth. It is possible to integrate a real world problem of a company in the composition of your  master’s thesis.

     

    Degree

    Upon successful completion of the program, THE KLU will award a state-recognized and accredited Master of Science degree.
